About the Presenter:
Delaware-based poet, writer, and historian Christopher T. George has had
a long-standing love affair with Edgar Allan Poe. His interest in Poe is
nearly 50 years long, having begun in 1974, when his article, “A Poe Tour
of Baltimore” published in the summer issue of Maryland Magazine was
recognized in the A. D. Emmart Award.
More recently, Chris has written about the mystery of Poe’s death in
Baltimore in early October 1849 on his blog at
christophertgeorge.blogspot.com/2009/11/mystery-of-death-of-edgar-
allan-poe.html.

He is also one of the experts who features in a video with
Key West-based psychic Denise Lescano in an inquiry into Edgar’s early
demise. Check it out at

Chris George is also a published author on the War of 1812 and the Jack
the Ripper murders of 1888 and he has helped to organize conferences on
those topics.
Chris was born in Liverpool, England, in 1948. He emigrated to the U.S.
in 1955, but returned to Liverpool to experience the “Swinging Sixties,”
during which time he attended John Lennon’s Quarry Bank High School
(The Beatles were originally called “The Quarrymen” after the school
song). Chris re-emigrated to the U.S. in 1968 and studied poetry with
Sister Maura Eichner and Elliott Coleman. He has been published in
literary journals worldwide.
After living for over 40 years in Maryland, Chris presently lives in
Newark, Delaware with his wife Donna and sister-in-law Lisa, two rescue
cats, and a mini-Pinscher.
