LVP Virtual Salon and Open Mic- New Schedule in February 2021

We have been doing the open mics each week during the pandemic, and they will continue but will be moving to once a month starting with February. We were doing a mini workshop on the first open mic of the month and these will continue, but will be moving in February to 8:00 PM with the virtual open mic and salon at 8:30. If you are interested in the “mini workshop” portion of the event, just log on at 8:00. If you want to attend the open mic portion, that will start at 8:30.
**So once a month on Monday evenings, mini workshop 8:00 EST and open mic at 8:30 PM EST.
We do plan to have some virtual events other than the open mics, with special featured guests. Please look for those on Facebook and keep up with us on Instagram. #lehighvalleypoetry
The mini workshop is intended to be a simple prompt, form exploration, or generative exercise to keep ourselves open to new writing strategies and forms of expression. Previous examples include the cento from political source material and reflecting on words of the year.
The salon and open mic is a free flowing discussion and open mic sharing. Feel free to discuss an upcoming project, share an event, or plug a book. We move on to the open mic where those interested in sharing a poem or two indicate that interest in the beginning or in the chat. Participants are also welcome to share music, short fiction, etc.
