Words in the Ward has been a local, grassroots West Ward, Easton neighborhood event for over ten years, starting with open mic gatherings on sidewalks and pocket parks in 2014. During the pandemic, Words in the Ward went virtual.
We will be hosting an event as part of the annual Easton Book Festival at Plants + Coffee and JoJo’s Book Nook on October 12, 2026 from 5:00 PM- 6:30 PM. Check out the festival website, brochure, and app for the latest details on the events.

We are happy to partner with the Easton Book Festival again for an in person event at a local West Ward business, Plants + Coffee on Northampton Street. Hosted by E. About Words in the Ward
In 2020, Words in the Ward contributed programming to the local Easton Book Festival in the form of videos from local poets, compiled together and shared by the festival. We are happy to partner with the Easton Book Festival each year to highlight the importance of creative community expression and the goal to connect and collaborate with all neighborhoods.
The West Ward is home to poets, artists, novelists, independent publishers, musicians, actors, zine makers, fiber artists, teachers, book store owners, and more. We need spaces and community connections to thrive. Come see what we are up to!
