Lehigh Valley Poetry has been a partnering organization and co-producer of events and activities since 2019. Like all organizers, we had to go virtual in 2020 to keep things going and that is when our open mics went online, as well.
For the festival that year, we hosted virtual open mics, workshops, panels, even zine and art swaps through the mail. The Words in the Ward series went virtual as well and became a series of poetry videos created by local poets.
This was a challenging period of time, but also a time when workshops and virtual readings kept us connected and creating and a lot of positive things came out of that time. Many of those things are still here, such as the LVP Salon.
For the Easton Book Festival, some of us sit on the board as well and serve on the programming committees to develop the events that you see each year, with a hand in Wicked Brew, Words in the Ward, LVP Book Festival Virtual Open Mic, book and anthology releases, Small Press Expo, Open Mic in Centre Square, Farmers Market, workshops, and. more.
The festival happens each October, and the schedule is posted on the website each year around the end of September.
